Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Knoctal (“Knoctal”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), based in Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Diatic mobile application (“App”) or visit diatic.app and its blog (together with the App, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create a Diatic account you may sign in with Google (through Firebase Authentication, which shares your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account) or with an email address and password. In some cases an account may be provisioned on your behalf in advance and later linked to your email or Google sign-in.

Health and usage information you provide. To provide the App's core features, we store the data you log, including glucose readings, meals and meal photos, medicine and insulin doses, habits, and smart-plan progress. This information is synced to your account so it is available across your devices.

Meal photo analysis. When you scan a meal, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini (Vertex AI) API to estimate carbohydrates, glycemic index, and calories. Google processes this image under its own privacy terms; see Google's Privacy Policy.

Subscription and payment information. Premium subscriptions are purchased and billed entirely through Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status from Google Play, but we never receive or store your full payment card details.

Server logs. Our backend, hosted on Cloudflare, automatically records standard server logs (such as IP address, request timestamps, and device or browser type) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not currently use any dedicated analytics or crash-reporting SDK inside the App.

Website cookies. diatic.app and its blog use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the App and website, including logging, syncing, and AI meal analysis.
• To create and manage your account, and authenticate you across devices.
• To process and fulfil Premium subscriptions purchased through Google Play.
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues from server logs.
• To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
• To display advertising on diatic.app through Google AdSense.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — sign-in and account identity.
• Turso — database storage for your account and health-tracking data.
• Cloudflare — Workers (backend logic), storage, and server logs.
• Google Gemini / Vertex AI — analysis of meal photos you scan.
• Google Play Billing — processing of Premium subscription payments.
• Google AdSense — advertising shown on diatic.app.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, to the extent necessary for them to perform their function, or where required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Knoctal, our users, or others.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your account and health-tracking data is stored on Turso and Cloudflare infrastructure. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and health-tracking data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account or request deletion by emailing us, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• You can access, update, or correct the data you have logged directly within the App.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
• You can review or revoke Diatic's access to your Google account at your Google Account settings.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising using Google's ad settings linked in Section 1.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (Google, Cloudflare, Turso) operate infrastructure in multiple countries. Your information may therefore be processed or stored outside of Pakistan, subject to the safeguards required by those providers.

10. Medical Disclaimer

Diatic organises the information you log and helps you understand it. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow your doctor's guidance for medication doses and treatment decisions, including any estimates produced by the meal-scanning feature.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised policy.
